        <description>Take a thermometer outside on a clear night and point it at the moon. Then point it at a spot of empty sky. The moonlit spot reads cooler. Moonlight actually removes heat. Sunlight through a magnifying glass will burn wood in seconds. Try the same thing with moonlight and nothing happens at all. If the moon were simply rock reflecting sunlight, the reflection should carry some of that heat and some of that intensity. Instead it behaves like something entirely its own.
